The Tyco Fire Suppression Group offers a full line of ANSUL® special hazard fire protection products that are developed at the ANSUL Fire Technology Center, one of the most extensive fire research and testing facilities in the world. Over 1,000
trained distributors around the globe can design, install, and service your ANSUL fire suppression products.

You’ll find an ANSUL product to protect virtually any fire application found in a typical airport:

  • Foam systems for hangar protection
  • Rapid intervention vehicles for crash-fire-rescue operations
  • Wheeled fire extinguishers for ramp protection
  • Clean-agent suppression systems for control towers and data centers
  • FAA approved fire extinguishers for on-board applications

ANSUL FOAM FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM

Foam system fire protection for aircraft hangars depends on group / classification and either commercial or military specifications. Along with traditional foam-water sprinkler systems, foam monitors, and foam-water hose line systems, the ANSUL foam offering features our long-proven high-expansion foam systems.

JET-X® high-expansion foam systems automatically seek out and suppress fire at the source. They offer many advantages over conventional water or foam systems including low water consumption, three-dimensional protection, and minimal
maintenance.

A JET-X® high-expansion foam system feeds multiple generators during this aircraft hangar commissioning test.
The MAGNUM™ 440 rapid intervention vehicle uses AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) and dry chemicals to suppress this mammoth test fire at the ANSUL Fire Technology Center.
ANSUL® hand portable and wheeled fire extinguishers provide effective manual fire protection.
One of two quality ANSUL® clean-agent systems for the protection of normally-occupied areas.

ANSUL RAPID INTERVENTION VEHICLES FOR AIRPORT FIRE SAFETY

Both commercial and government airport authorities are initiating programs to replace their older platforms with highly mobile, crash-fire-rescue vehicles. Combining maximum speed and mobility with high-performance fire suppression technology – ANSUL
MAGNUM™ vehicles are fully equipped to fulfill these objectives.

MAGNUM vehicles are different from the competition because they feature proven ANSUL twin-agent technology to knock down the flames while securing the flammable vapors. The 440 model contains 450lbs (204kg) of Williams PKW, a highly visible Purple-K
dry chemical and 150 gallons (568l) of ANSULITE® AFFF. The MAGNUM 480 model boasts 1,350lbs (612kg) of PKW and 300 gallons (1,136l) of AFFF pre-mix solution.

ANSUL PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

ANSUL portable fire extinguishers are available for both on-board use and ground applications.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recognized the need for approved halon alternatives by issuing a test protocol for manufacturers that offer commercial alternative technologies for the aviation industry. ANSUL CLEANGUARD® clean-agent
fire extinguishers meet those requirements and have received FAA approval. CLEANGUARD extinguishers contain DuPont FE-36, an exceptionally effective fire-extinguishing agent that is safe for occupants and sensitive electronic instruments.

On the ground, ANSUL extinguishers provide first-response protection. From wheeled fire extinguishers providing ramp protection to hand portable extinguishers in terminals and maintenance shops – we have extinguishing agents for virtually every
situation.

ANSUL FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS

ANSUL clean-agent fire suppression systems protect normally-occupied areas containing vital electronic equipment such as control towers and data centers. Depending on the specific requirements and applicable specifications, two ANSUL clean-agent
system options are available.

INERGEN® is an environment-friendly, people-safe agent boasting zero ozone depletion potential, zero global warming potential, and zero atmospheric lifetime. An inert gas mixture, INERGEN agent requires no cleanup, contains no chemicals, is
nontoxic and nonconductive, and will not produce corrosive decomposition products. It is listed / approved by globally recognized testing agencies / laboratories.

The SAPPHIRE™ automatic, fixed nozzle, fire suppression system contains 3M™ Novec™ 1230 fire protection fluid. Novec 1230 fluid has zero ozone depletion potential, an atmospheric lifetime of just five days, and a global warming
potential of 1.0. The sustainable agent is approved by the US EPA under SNAP (Significant New Alternatives Policy) and registered under ELINCS (European List of Notified Chemical Substances).

AUTOPULSE® microprocessor-based control units receive detection signals from the protected area and perform key operations – sounding alarms, shutting down equipment, and releasing the fire suppression system. Accessories include smoke / heat / flame detectors, manual pull stations, horns, strobes, bells, abort switches, maintenance switches, etc.
